In order for a K-12 student to attend South Redford School District, at least one parent/guardian must reside within the South Redford School District boundaries. The exceptions to this are if you are enrolling your student in preschool, are a School of Choice applicant (grades K-5), attending SOAR Academic Institute (grades 6-12), or have been accepted into our Eagles Scholar Program (grades 6-12).
If you are not certain which elementary school your child will be assigned to, please use our Boundary Map or SRSD Street Boundaries List to confirm.
School of Choice (non-resident applicants entering grades K-5)
Please complete and submit the School of Choice Application prior to completing your online pre-enrollment.
School of Choice applications can be submitted February 12, 2024 through September 6, 2024 by 3pm.
K-12th Grade Student Enrollment Documentation
The following documents are required in order to complete your pre-enrollment application:
- Original certified birth certificate (Required)
- Immunization requirements/records (Required)
- Parent/guardian's driver's license for identification purposes only (Provide a copy of the front and the back) (Required)
- Proof of Residency:
- Closing statement, mortgage statement, current residency tax statement, or current lease agreement (Required)
- Current DTE or Cable bill in your name (Required)
- If the DTE or Cable bill is not in your name, you must provide (3) of the following in its place: Paycheck, Social Services Check, Credit Card Statement, or Auto Insurance Statement. Please note: Enrollment can be processed with (2) proofs of residency and a 30 day extension for the 3rd piece of mail.
- Official transcript from previous school and current report card if not listed on the transcript (High School Only)
- Acceptance Letter (for Eagle Scholars and SOAR students) (Required)
- Divorce decree showing custody, if applicable
Homeowner Affidavit
When a student is living with a parent in a relative's home, the following documents must be provided.

- Homeowner's Affidavit signed by the homeowner.
- Homeowner’s driver’s license
- Homeowner’s mortgage/lease agreement
- Homeowner’s DTE/Utility bill
- Student’s parent/guardian must provide three (3) pieces of Proof of Residency (see list of acceptable items above)

For all student enrollments:
- Select Start a New Pre-Enrollment when starting your first pre-enrollment. You will be required to create a pre-enrollment account using an email address and creating a password. Please keep record of the email and password for future use.
- Select Continue a Pre-Enrollment in Progress to return to a started pre-enrollment or to add another student.
After submitting your students online pre-enrollment, our enrollment coordinator will contact you via email or phone to review next steps to finalize enrollment.
